“How I Met Your Mother” Theory
Barney and Robin have a weird relationship. They were once together, but they broke up. It seemed like they were going to be over for good, but some things have come into light. One of my theories of the show is that Barney marries Robin and NOT Nora. My reasons for coming to this conclusion are as followed:
- In season six episode twelve, “False Positive”, Robin asks Ted if he would be her best man at her wedding.
- At the end of season six we see barney talking to Nora again and it seems like Robin is happy at first, but she slowly starts to look jealous.
- In season seven episode one, “The Best Man”, we see that Ted is Barney’s best man. In the episode Barney calls Ted in to give him advice on which tie he should wear. He then starts to compare marriage to “wearing a tie”. In season four episode twenty-four, “The Leap”, he also uses this metaphor “buying a suit” in reference to Robin.
- In season seven Robin goes to therapy and starts dating Kevin, but in episode nine, “Disaster Averted”, of the same season Robin and Barney take a cab ride together they start to recall a time where they almost kiss and then eventually start kissing.
- And also in season seven episode one, “The Best Man”, at the end of the episode Ted gets called once again, but this time he gets called by the bride. Why would he get called if it was Norah? They’re not as close as Robin and Ted are. He got called in because he is both Barney’s best man and Robin’s best man.
So that’s my theory. All this information has been collected up until season seven episode nine, so anything thing that happens after that episode won’t count towards my theory. Hope you liked it! Bye.
